Whazzah!

I need to update here more...I just don't always have anything to say.

I don't understand. The first of November people have started putting up Christmas Decorations? WTH? Why? What happened to Turkey Day? It hasn't even came yet @_@ The time and days move too fast as it is. I don't need to see Christmas lights now.

And since I'm going on about Holiday Decorations. I LOATHE those huge blow up holiday yard gag up and cluttering yard things. Seriously... ok, I thought the Reaper for Halloween was cool... so you can walk through it, up the sidewalk to get candy. But come on people....Some one had put up a huge gobbling turkey in their yard for Thanksgiving... and what will happen next, which seriously ALREADY HAS... those stupid blow up Christmas globes, blow up Santa and Reindeer, Ginormous Grinchs and yadda, yadda, yadda. Sometimes one yard will have 2 or more. Wonderful that they like to waste their money on yard junk like that.

What happened to classy like decorations... A nice fodder shock, hay, and pumpkins for Thanksgiving. And just Christmas lights and some little yard decorations here and there? Which I stick to just lights and the Christmas Tree. Heh, Guess I'm just boring.

In other news...I can't wait for this weekend XD I get to hang and art jam with a couple of my friends!!!! Though a 4 hour drive is ahead of me. Which makes me a little nervous. I don't usually drive to new places on my own. LOL.. I'm usually the navigator. So, Friday night, I'm going to bed early, so I can get up at 5am and hit the road XD

Life Update

Anthrocon was great and we made it safely back home. I do plan on going again next year. And hopefully leave kiddo at home. So hubby and I won't have the parenting stress hanging with us X3

Work is work...blah... nothing new....move on...

This last Friday, I took Cass to the city pool. Just me and her. She had a blast in the kiddy pool XD She kept trying to splash me. Evil child. I took her to the big pool and held her in the 3 to 4 foot, trying to help her learn how to doggie paddle. LOL. she kicks her legs like crazy, but can't remember to paddle her arms. The pool wasn't crowded at all... which was surprising. After swimming for about two hours, we hung out at the park. She liked that.

We ended up in Rowan Co. this weekend...at our friends home, Matt and Cathy. Gah, we don't get to hang with them much. It was good to stay the night with them. They have been recording True Blood...so wewatched an episode.... so now ordered the first season on DVD. I'm a sucker of vampire shows...lol..sucker...

Anyways. Been getting Cass ready for Headstart. She's got a dental and eye appointment coming up on the 29th. I hope I get everything in on time @_@ That was the earliest her docs could take her. School starts August 6.

The comics will upload next Monday if all goes well. :3

...huh?

Been working hard at work lately....which cause me to crash as soon as I get home. Which also in turn has caused me to have some wild dreams. I dreamed that I was a sword swallower at a freak show ..... I wonder where that came from? ::snorks:: Other dreams...are a bit fuzzy, I know I had them, but can't really remember what they were about.

I'm getting SUPER NERVOUS about Anthrocon. I'm mostly worried about not hearing people or understanding what they say to me. I don't have a hearing problem, I don't think XD But if people talk really fast or low....I don't understand a word O_O It happened once at MFM...A guy was talking and I felt so stupid asking him, huh?, huh? a million times -_-

I'm am a shy person....but don't worry, I won't freak out and hide if you talk to me X3 Oh GAWD, I just thought of all the stuff I have to do! PANIC! I need to make a poster with prices and more bookmarks. And buttons and plot other things. I'm not going to sell shirts and mugs like I wanted too, I just don't have the money. So, what will be for sale, comics, buttons, bookmarks, and prints.

I need to draw some new prints too. I want to draw alien ones, since the con is about aliens this year.

Stuff

Hmmmm, I've been quiet and hiding lately. I apologize for that. I've been busy with home and family stuff. I helped my sister move into her new home....and then again, this last week, helped my in-laws pack and move into their new home.

House work....lots of house and yard work. We're still cleaning up the trees that had fallen around our property from the ice and wind storms. Rain, rain, rain.... so thankful we don't live where it floods anymore. Though, I feel for those people, that did get flooded though....it totally sucks.

The comics? I have failed in keeping up with them. The line art for NS is done, it just needs inked and colored. Starfire is going on hiatus. I don't have time. : P

Talked to my boss last week and got an ok to start working later on Thursday nights, so I don't have to work on Friday at all. Which is good...I can save money on a day of daycare and money from gas driving to and from work. It'll probably be next week before I can start doing that though.

Hmmm, that's about it for now. :3

Lots of thinking....

okie, okie, okie.... I've been thinking about a lot of things. MAJOR things. I do love both my web comics....but I have to admit, I do love Nightshift more. The deal....I have been doing two comic stories, plus, mommy, wife, and 40 hour week job, for quite a while now. Kiddo is getting older, she wants to play outside more....hell, I want to play outside more X3 Baseball, fishing, camping, bike riding, trips and just places that I can't sit down and draw or take a laptop. I don't want to miss a thing with my daughter....I'm sure you all understand that.

So.... Starfire Agency is going on hiatus after I finish up, with the team getting out of Area 51. There are a few pages left of it. I'm NOT quitting it. It's just taking a break... probably for a few months...or... when I feel I can and want to get back to it.

I want to put more focus on Nightshift. My artwork, to me, has become sloppy from rushing my comics to meet a deadline. And I very much dislike that. There is another project I want to start as well.... a comic that goes along with Nightshift, but it focuses on Caje and Travis.... this comic will not be going online. Reason why...it's because I don't want to feel like I must be on a deadline. Also, I want it to be special. It may come out later online...but it will for sure be available for sell, whenever I get it finished.

I hate it when the comics go from "I WANT to draw this comic" to "I HAVE to draw this comic". I apologize to the fans of Starfire Agency in advance and will apologize again when the final page arrives.

And.. that's about it for now.

Just stuff

I have a big question to people who have sold comics at big conventions. Like Anthrocon. How many copies of each comic issue should I take to sell? Take in to granted that I'm not that well known yet. I'm going to take prints, buttons, bookmarks, and a couple of mugs and mouse pads. Anything else I should think about bringing?

I got out of the swing of things during those snow/ice/wind storms we had this last month. NOW time to get things back into order. Starting with my list.

LIST of TO DO....

1. FEBRUARY 21...send SFA and NS comics to the printers!
2. Complete 2-23 comic updates!
3. Start setting up SFA issue three....which I will only print a few that will be sold at Anthrocon.
4. Commission for MIHA!
5. Art for Neo Swatkats.
6. Art for Mystic
7. Donation art for SFA and NS

It's always something...

Merf...if it's not one thing, it's another. I think I should just give up, roll over and die. Yesterday morning I woke up at 3 am, with severe pains in upper abdomen. The pain would hit, then go away, then hit again 15 to 30 minutes later. It's a weird cramping pain that got got worse by noon...that almost caused me to vomit...so, I told my boss that I needed to go home. I thought maybe if I just relaxed, it'd go away....but no.

This morning I went to the doc. He says it's either, bad acid reflux or my gall bladder. So, we are trying to treat Acid reflux first to see if that is the prob. Grumbles. It's true...when you hit 30, it's all down hill XD LOL.

There will be no comics this next monday. I have no electricity at home. We haven't had it since Tuesday. So we've been staying the night with Jeff's parents and I am without my laptop and art supplies. And with the way my tummy feels, I just can't draw anyways. : P

COMIC UPDATES

I need to do better at posting the updates on LJ.

Nightshift
Starfire Agency

Comic Preorders for Issue 2 for Stafire Agency and Nitghtshift!!! I will start taking next week. I'll make an ad for the site and I will also post them here, so be on the look out for them! (The ad and buttons that are there now is for Issue one....so don't click on those, unless you are wanting issue 1) ^_^ How this works, I will take pre-orders for about a month. Once the pre-orders are made, then I will make my order with Ka-blam. Then it will take a month or so to be printed. It does take time for the printing process, so when you order, don't expect them right away XD LOL... I will keep folks updated on the progress of the printing, once they are in Ka-blam's hands ^_^

The list of things I need to get finished...like SOON!

*Get Starfire Agency Issue 2 set up for print. ALMOST, I GOT 3 MORE PAGES TO DO!
*Make buttons and ad for Issue 2 comic Preorders!
*Work on comics for January 12
NEW images for donations for both comics. GOT SFA READY, NOW NEED NS
Work on the Members only section of Nightshift.
Make a store at Zazzle.
<strike>Finish NeeKnight's Full force thumping picture!</strike>
<strike>ANTHROCON STUFF!!!!
Health Update

Oh geez guys, I'd forgot to update you all on my health issues. Ok...I had a CAT scan and all came back clear. No blockages in my brain. The problem? Low Thyroid levels. So that was making dizzy, nauseous, tired and one thing that I really didn't think about...my memory. I have realized that I'd been forgetting quite a bit of things....but just figured it was where I was tired. ::shrugs:: So... Got some medicine to help straighten me out. ^_^ YAY!

Taking a little break on the comics.

Hey Everybody. I should had mentioned this last week, but I will sort of be taking a break from the comics, for the Christmas Season. So, no updates this Monday or next. The comics will resume updating on January 5, 2009.

2009, can you believe it? I am 30 years old today....wow. LOL... but I don't feel thirty, so it's all good....especially when I have younger folks around me to keep me feeling young. A younger high school girl that goes to my church, is REALLY into similar things that I'm into. Jeff had mentioned to her that I loved the movie Labyrinth, you know the one with Jim Henson muppets and David Bowie? Well, she rented it and tried it out and ended up buying the movie and the soundtrack. She even gave me a copy of the soundtrack, which is totally awesome X3 So, now I am in this big Labyrinth, Jerith the Goblin King high. And I did not know that there was a Manga series that the Jim Henson company had began called "Return to the Labyrinth". Where Jerith goes back for Toby when he's a teen. I'm going to be buying those....someday. I can't help but think of how awesome it would be for them to make that into a movie....but then I think of them screwing it up and not using David Bowie and replacing the muppet goblins with CG.

Ok....so I may be producing some Labyrinth art soon...a gift to the girl who has got me full force into it again ^_^ Merry Christmas Everyone!

Bunch of StuFF!

Argh, what a weekend. My back is all mad at me for lift and carrying Cass too much this weekend. I don't usually carry her too much, but being at a crowded mall makes me paranoid and having her in my arms, in the stroller or on a leash, makes me feel safe. Oh man she REALLY tried my patience this weekend. She fussed a lot, plus I was sick, still am actually, so my patience was already pulled tight. But, good thing...after we got back from the mall, mom and my sis took Cass home with them for a few hours, which gave me time to get the comics finished and let me relax a bit.

Santa is getting Cassidy the Dora Magical Doll House.... Oh. My. Gawd. The toy people know what they are doing, $89.99 for the house, which I got it for $69.99 at K-mart. The house comes with Dora and a couch. The rest of the room furniture and dolls are sold separately. So...I bought the Living room, Mom & Dad's bedroom, Dinning room and art room...each set was $9.99... falls over. YEAH for Bonus I got on my check for working my rear off at work...cause it is blown now. We also got the mom, Diego, Swiper, Tico and Boots dolls for it. I thought back, me and Jeff never buy her toys throughout the year...only coloring books and such, so I guess it's ok that we're doing this...even though it makes us cringe.

I'm so excited about Christmas though. I can't wait to see her face when she sees the Dora House. I mean, that is all she has talked about for the last month. We put up the Christmas Tree last night as we watched Drake & Josh's Christmas Special (She loves Drake & Josh. LOL and so do we XD). Our tree is full of Garfield, Scooby Doo, Snoopy and Mickey Mouse ornaments.

For Christmas Eve, Cass and I are going to bake sugar cookies for Santa and we'll make sure we have milk, so we can set that all out for Santa. XDDDD LOL... I think I'm going to enjoy this more then her X3

Twilight (may be spoilers)......Everyone knows I love vampires....so, Jeff and I watched it Friday. I went in with an open mind, even though I read all the bad things about it. I have to say that I appreciated it for what it was. It was a teen drama, for teens..... BUT the long, emotional, batting eye talking, from the actor that played Belle drove me insane. The vampire dude was just, ugly? Put Brad Pitt in there...remove his clothes...yep... nice. ^______^ Some things were cool, other things sucked. I wanted to know more about the Bad vamps and their ideas of killing vs the good vampires... then mix it with the drama. LOL... Actually, I thought the best part was when that bad vamp dude came in and went insane on Belle. ::shrugs:: Eh, it was ok....but not worth all the hype it got. Interview with a Vampire, Dracula, Lost Boys, and the TV show Forever Knight are still the best vamp shows you can watch.

Oh...and BTW, the comics are up XD ENJOY!
Nightshift
Starfire Agency

Also with the comic stuffs! THANK YOU ALL WHO HAVE DONATED!!!! I will be sending mail out this week sometime! I also need to get a PO Box....I need to post that on my forehead.

WHOOT WHOOT COMIC UPDATES

COMIC UPDATES!

Cajun has seen better days that's for sure.
Nightshift

Is that guy flirting with Rachael or is there something more going on? ;3 Heh...Denver is all wow about actually being in Area 51....dork.
Starfire Agency

Hey guys, I got some donation buttons on the comic pages that get you rewards if you send any spare change. Donations are appreciated and really do help us out! Thanks!

In other news.... Commissions have been mailed out! And I'm still working on a couple of peoples... guys I'm sorry for taking so long on them. I've had quite an art block ever since the wreck and have been practically forcing my comics out as well. I don't want to feel like I'm forcing myself to do your commissions, I want them to look good ^_^ A super positive, I woke up this morning and feel very artsy, positive and ready to draw once I get home. So, maybe this art block will be over with.

While at the post office Saturday, Cass took a hard fall onto the tiled floor. She had new shoes on and was doing princess twirls...argh... she landed on her right cheek...it is soooo bruised. But she is ok, I just know it hurt her pretty bad.

GOOD NEWS! She went and pooped in the potty...all on her own!!!! I heard her go into the bathroom and close the door...I walked in and she had her pants down. She then asked me for her little potty. Which we have a little potty that sits on the floor and then one of those that's like a small toilet seat that sits on the big potty. I waited on her a bit, then I asked her if she wanted me to leave and she said yes. Then I heard Jeff ask her what she was doing...she got up and shut the door on him saying she had to peepee. Not to long after that she comes running out of the bathroom with her pants down, I pooped, I pooped! MUAH-HA! Sorry to you people that really don't want to hear about potty training...but OMG, not having to spend $10 to $20 extra a week on diapers would be WONDERFUL!!!!!

You are infected....

I had the craziest dream last night. @_@ I LOVE DREAMS LIKE THESE!

Anyways...I was this girl in her 20's, with long brown hair. I had a younger girl, maybe 14, traveling with me. She had straight blond hair. We were both wearing layered clothing...like it was cold out. There was something strange going on in the world or community we were at. Me and her had been on the run, trying to get away from certain people that had changed. They didn't change in look, but more in manner.

We finally made it to some sort of tent for refugees and they took us to a screening room...where me and the girl had to wait. I remember it being bright white with the florescent bulbs flickering above. Then a man comes in... supposedly he was a doctor, he looked to be in his 30's and wore a white lab coat. He told us that we were infected. I screamed that we were not infected. Cause somehow, I suppose I had seem how people were being infected.

The doctor motioned for other people to enter the room as I tried to grab for the younger girl to protect her. But they grabbed me and held me down as the doctor cornered the young girl in the room. He spoke calmly to her and his voice seemed to entrance her. I yelled her name (which I can't remember it...I was calling her something like. Chio or something.)

Anyways, he turns over his arm, showing his wrist and this barb, that looked quite slimy and brown in color, slides out from under his skin. It was about five inches long. The doctor holds out his opposite hand, waiting for the girl to put her hand into his and she does with no hesitation. He turns over his barbed wrist and shoves the barb into her arm and she screams. I'm also screaming for her and trying to get free.

Then a guy rushes in and hits the doctor on the back of the head and pulls him away from the younger girl. The guy just keeps moving, fighting the guards that have now let me go to fight him. I grab the girl up in my arms, trying to carry her, she's crying, but clearly I realize she's too heavy...The guy who came in fighting people, comes to me and tries to take her from me. To which I hold her tight, not trusting him. But we hear other people starting to come towards us. He yells at to come on...

I must had let him help us, since we ended up out at an old farm house. The little girl is sick and her arm around the place where the barb entered is turning purple and black. There were other 'normal' people there as well. Some trying to help the girl. Me and the one guy were talking outside and began to notice how the animals were reacting towards us. The dogs began to snarl and snap and tried to attack us, but they were tied up. It was unlike them to act like that. Then, the doctor comes out of the woods and pets the dogs and they calm down. We start to run back to the house, but it is surrounded by more of the strange people. The doctor begins his talk on whats wrong with us, why he has come to treat us from our infection....I beg him to save the girl...he says it's too late for her and she will die...He comes towards us....and...

THE ALARM CLOCK GOES OFF! -_- damnit.

Heh... I'll use this dream some how in the Starfire Agency comic...it's too cool to let go XD

My world... leave it be.

Why do people have to tear up a little area to get coal... when there probably isn't even enough coal there to be worth what they will do to my beautiful hills? Between my parents, my aunt, my sister and me, we own a nice amount of hill property. And on these hills is where my sister, my friends and I practically spent most of our time at....not even to mention, my father, when he was a child. Roaming the woods, hiking, building tree houses, playing out games. In our teens, the time was more spent for just hiking and sitting on top of Table Rock to look out over the beautiful tree tops, look out into the blue sky and just relax.

Well, the people on the backside of the property we own, as well as some other folks, have sold their side of the hill for strip mining. This makes me disappointed and pretty angry. I know people need money and yeah, people probably don't like the woods and hills as much as I do. But dude...it's a small community, the mess it will cause, the coal trucks driving by, tearing up the roads, the coal dust, the blasting, them taking out Table Rock... yeah, we own half of it....but heh, I'm not stupid, they won't just leave it there...they certainly won't cut it in half...and if it does remain, there will be a great high wall there on that side of the property. No more trees, no more being hidden from the rest of the world down below. The people driving on route 40 would be able to see us sitting up there.

Sigh...I know this sounds like a real silly thing to be upset about. but, it does upset me. I wanted Cass to enjoy that area just like I did...to have something I could share with her.

I'm not sure when they will be beginning this project. I'm not sure if coal trucks will be driving passed my home (which I hope they don't...the road damage, coal dust and just the fact that Cass and I walk and ride our bikes on the road would make it dangerous.)

I do know the importance of mining and strip mining.... my dad worked for the strip mines for years and Jeff's dad has been a deep miner for years. But they were also moving dirt in large areas... I just don't see how they'll get that much in this small area.

Anyways... ok... I've had my whiney complaint. I'm going to go up there this weekend and take some pictures from Table Rock. And I'll post them here, just so I can share what I love with you guys ...If you care to see. If not...lol... then meh. X3

update

Thanks, all you guys who had concerns and such for us...Me and Cass are doing good. Though OMG... I feel like I've done a million sit-ups and push ups XD Everythng from the waist up is sore...I also found a bunch on bruising on my right leg and my upper left arm. My muscles in the left of my neck are soooo sore. When I asked Cass where she hurts, she points to the same place on her neck. I hope to God nothing bad has happened on the inside of her that isn't showing. The hospital didn't want to x-ray her since they didn't want to expose her to the radiation. If you guys don't mind, pray for Cass or think positive thoughts for her health and wellbeing.

The Insurance adjuster got a hold of me today and told me the Jeep is a total loss. Bummer...but the good side...the settlement claim is enough to pay off what we owned on it and we wll have a good down payment for a new/used car. And heres a pic of the destruction I caused..... http://www.poecatcomix.com/live/brokeit.jpg Cass tells me that we broke it and we did...all three door posts are shoved in...even the floor board was bowed up.

Still, I'm looking at Jeep. (((BE PREPARED FOR JEEP RAMBLING.)))) And I've been reviewing all those new Jeeps they got out there. They stopped making my Cherokee model in 2001. I would get another one just like it...but getting something newer would probably be better. Though, man they are good cars. An interesting thing I found out though, they only had a 3 star safety rating in the sides, rear and front (The best is 5). My all time dream Jeep the wrangler had 4 stars on the sides but NA on the rear and front.... and that disappoints me greatly. Cause I want Cass safe and that NA doesn't make me feel safe. The Patriot was EXCELLENT is safety as well as in fuel efficency. Also, it is sorta based on my Cherokee/mixed with a bit of the Liberty. But...it's sorta ugly lookin' XD LOL...I know that don't matter....but, well you know what I mean. You gotta get a car you KNOW you will be happy with inside and out. DANG IT JEEP, MAKE MY CHEROKEE AGAIN! XD

Art wise? I have got behind on comic drawing. I'm going to push myself to make my deadline. We'll see. Commissions. I've made some progress.

Katney: FINISHED
Mel (static): FINISHED (Paid)
Sagey: Needs colors (Payment is on it's way :3)
Chris: plotting on second.
LArgaiLion: Plotting (Paid)

Rainy days....

Okie.... I wrecked my Jeep this morning. I was coming down two-mile hill...it was rainy and wet. Of course I wasn't driving regular speeds on the curvy hill...but, my back tires began to slide, I tried to get it back in line...I thought I had it, then all of a sudden the whole car spun in the opposite direction and I slammed into the guard rail. And THANK GOD for that guard rail....I could had missed it by probably 5 feet and me, Cass and the Jeep would had fallen over a 30 foot drop into someone's back yard.

A guy that was my coach in grade school was driving behind me. I'm so glad it was him. He came out to help me and Cass, as I was a total mess and clinging to Cass to calm her down. He explained to the cop that I wasn't going that fast at all and the Jeep began to fish tail. And the worst thing was seeing 4 other cars skid in the same area I did...but, they were lucky in gaining control of their cars... that's when the cop told up to go stand away from the area, incase someone else loses control of their car and may come at us.

Not to worry though...Me and Cass are ok. We went to the hospital and got checked out. We were mainly scared to death...my right hand got bruised up some how. Maybe when the tires whipped back, the steering wheel must had slammed my hand onto the middle console. I've been writing with it, it's a little sore, not broken, we'll see how it feels for drawing the comics this week...I may not be able to get them done.

My Jeep....I don't know what the insurance company is going to say...if it's fixable or not. To me...it doesn't look fixable -_- I hit a curved guard rail, straight on with the passenger side of my car. The passenger doors are smashed in, the windshield cracked, the back hatch is jammed and the front tire was knocked off the axle. As well as the engine won't start. But we have full coverage.

soooooo....sometimes things just happen. heh... I just wish it didn't happen...cause I need to now hunt for a new car...and watch as my insurance goes up. : P

Updates and stuff.

*UPDATES!!!!!

Nightshift
Starfire Agency
Hareforce

Alright, we made it back from Tennessee all safe and sound. Well, besides some car sickness from driving on the back roads. :P That is the worst for me. Spinning rides and such make me SO sick. We went to Dollywood. It was fun...though a little wet, with the drizzling rain. At least Cass got to use her Dora umbrella.

My Jeep had been smelling funky....I thought it was where I spilt a chocolate Milkshake onto the floor board, but after cleaning it 3 times, it still smelt HORRIBLE. Well, we found the source of the smell. Cass had dropped one of her sippy cups of milk into the floor and it rolled under the drivers seat. GAG! It had clabbered and just uuuugggggghhhh... XD Well, we cleaned it best we could and the smell is going away. The adventures in child raising.

Till next Monday!

Commissions (Got a bit behind...plan on finishing some of these off by next Monday.)
Chris: plotting on second.
Mel (static): Inked, started on colors (Paid)
Sagey: Drawn... needs ink and colors (Payment is on it's way :3)
Katney: Drawn...needs ink
LArgaiLion: Plotting (Paid)
